Minnesotan Italian

by Robin Rasmusson
( Osceola WI USA)

Growing up in Minnesota, my mother always made this dish for me.

I love Italian food, and everything that comes with it (The family, games, love, and of course flavor!). I truly believe that this recipe reflects that Italian culture, along with new flavors, and the same amount of accomplishment when something fabulous is created.

My mother and I, being German can only learn about and taste more cultures. I feel my calling is to produce new unique dishes, from the old flavors we so much love! Growing up in the cold weather with a single parent, we did well for making due.

This recipe is also fast, and cheap to make. I hope everyone enjoys my thought of comfort food! Tell your friend!

Quick & Easy, not to mention bowl licking, macaroni and bacon hot dish!

This dish is wonderful and full of flavor!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2- 1lb. Box Elbow Macaroni (par-cooked/strained)
  • 6- Strips Thick cut Peppered Bacon (chopped)
  • 1/2- White Onion (diced)
  • 1- 6 oz. Can Seasoned Tomato Sauce
  • 2- Tbsp. Fresh Basil Leaves (minced)

    PREPARATION

  • While cooking the macaroni, saute onions and bacon pieces in a large sauce pan, until onions are golden brown.
  • Mix in tomato sauce bring to a simmer 1-2 minutes. Removing from heat, add macaronis and stir together.
  • As a fresh finishing touch toss the chopped basil in the hot dish!

Let stand for a few minutes, then serve and enjoy!

Try it out, It really makes my mouth water!
