Ricotta Cheese Sandwiches

My husband taught me how to make these sandwiches.His grandmother,that came to the States from Italy,use to make these,all of the time.It is now,one of our family favorites.

INGREDIENTS

  • 6 Kaiser Rolls
  • 2 15 oz. containers Ricotta Cheese
  • 8 oz. sliced Provolone Cheese
  • 1 pound Bacon

    PREPARATION

  • In frying pan,brown bacon until crisp.
  • Place on paper towel lined plate.Let cool.
  • Cut Kaiser rolls in half.Place 4 to 5 tablespoons ricotta cheese,on bottom half of each roll,spread.Place one slice of provolone cheese,on top of that,then 2 to 3 slices of bacon.Repeat with each roll.
  • Take roll,wrap in aluminum foil.place rolls on baking sheet.
  • Bake in 350 degree oven for 15 minutes.Or until cheeses are melted.

    Note:If you can get Imported Provolone cheese.Use that in this recipe.It has more of a sharp taste to it.If not,use store bought provolone cheese.
