Grilled Chicken with Garlic
Cream Sauce

chicken

Garlicky

This Grilled Chicken with Garlic Cream Sauce giving to me by a friend of mine who knows how much I love garlic. This cream sauce goes perfectly with either grilled or breaded chicken breasts.

I’ve made them both ways and they are both delicious. You’ll get a completely different flavor when they’re grilled. Italians love grilled food. Not your typical charcoal grilling but your outdoor wood burning type grilling.

When I make this Grilled Chicken with Garlic Cream recipe I always make sure that the chicken is seasoned with a little dried basil and oregano. The herbs give the chicken extra flavor when grilled. To add a little more flavor to the sauce just add some chopped long green onions and sliced baby portabella mushrooms.

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 boneless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 tsp of salt
  • 1/2 tsp fresh ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp of dried oregano
  • 1 tsp of dried basil
  • 3 cloves of garlic, chopped
  • 1 Tbls butter
  • 1 Tbls vegetable oil
  • 1 Tbls of all purpose flower
  • 1/2 cup of chicken broth
  • 1 cup of heavy whipping cream
  • 2 oz of cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup of fresh grated Parmesan

    PREPARATION

  • Season the chicken with the salt, pepper, oregano and basil.
  • Grill or broil the chicken for 5 to 6 minutes on each side.
  • Place the chicken on a serving platter and keep warm.
  • In a medium size saucepan, sauté the garlic in the butter and oil for 2 minutes.
  • Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute more.
  • Stir in the chicken broth and cream and cook until thickened.
  • Stir in the cream cheese and Parmesan until melted.
  • Spoon over chicken breasts and serve the remaining sauce on the side.
